It was 227 years and 11 days ago that our first "Mr. President" was elected into office.

Thankfully, George Washington accepted his role with great humility and honor. He also stayed true to his simple roots by keeping his Mt Vernon farm in order while he led our country with great pride and perseverance.  Oh and by the way, George started every day with at least three cups of tea!

We are saluting him by delighting ourselves with one of his favorites...Gunpowder. Yum!
