Recipe: Grilled Chai Pork

Recipe: Grilled Chai Pork

Today we bring you a great recipe by Riza, our resident queen of the grill! This recipe uses both a rub and a marinade for additional flavor.

We've found that Coman-chai is a perfect texture for a rub. The aromatic spices permeate the meat and create a wonderful base for the teriyaki glaze. When left to marinate overnight, the pork becomes very tender and juicy. Serve it alongside your favorite salad and some homemade mashed potatoes.

Prep Time: 10 minutes; plus 1 hour, minimum, to marinate. Recommended: Prepare a day ahead for maximum tenderness.
Cook Time: 25-30 minutes
Serving Size: 4

Ingredients:

  • 2# pork tenderloin
  • ½ tbsp virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup Coman-chai tea
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce of choice (we love Soy Vay brand)

Instructions:

  1. Rub the tenderloin with olive oil. Follow with minced garlic and tea. Drizzle teriyaki over pork, making sure to cover all of the meat. Cover, and marinate for a minimum of 1 hour, but preferably overnight in
    the refrigerator.
  2. Place on a pre-heated grill and cook to taste. Cook until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. Remove and cover with foil for 5 minutes before slicing.
  3. Drizzle more sauce over meat when serving.

This dish is best served with a hot smooth Assam or a bold, iced Nilgiri.
